You need to take legal action against Novell for this travesty

So, let me get this right - you downloaded a trial version of the linux from the internet, and tried to install it on a perfectly good machine.
Your trial version failed to install. This is most likely because the time period for the trial had expired, so thats easy enough to understand. Another probable reason for the failure to install is because your machine was running too fast - linux works best on machines around the 1GHz mark, and would be very unstable running on a 3GHz machine.
All those facts aside, what concerns me most is that the linux loaded a virus onto the windows petition, and corrupted your machine ?
Astonishing !!
Novell has every right to restrict the distribution of their trial freewares, and abort the installation if the terms of the EULA have not been met. However, it is absolutely against the law for Novell to go that one fatal step further, and install a virus in retribution.
It is illegal for a supplier of software to inflict such punitive measures.
You have an excellent case here for taking Novell to a court of law, and prosecuting this malicious action on their part without predjudice.
I highly recommend that you pursue this course of action.

Great post Jerry! Listen here, I got the scoop on some other legal problems. Bill Gates has been pretty nice to the folks at Commodore and Atari. Y’see back in the 1980’s those companies started coming out with there own computers and booted up there operating systems with the Windows 3.1 drivers. Only thing was they didn’t get a proper Windows 3.1 license and ended up selling tons of these computers. I have no idea why Microsoft hasn’t gone after them. Reckon Bill figured he had enough money to burn at that point to worry bout em.

this reminds me of the tabloid Weekly World News–outlandish statements for the sake of making them. However, I am laughing quite a bit, so keep it up. Laughter is healthy.

I have to disagree with you. The Linux actually works best on 750 MHz, and even 1GHz may be enough to create virus. Beware of using the Linux on Microsoft XP or Vista, as the Linux replaces important files with Communist propaganda. Never trust the open source pirates with your computer.

I hate novell… and I’m even a “Certified Novell Administrator”! Their ZenWorks platform was a blatant rip-off of Citrix who is closeley partnered with Microsoft.

Ubuntu Linux running flawlessly on an AMD64×2 2200+.

I fail to see how a set of instructions given to the processor would be unstable based on the processor used. The instructions are understood just as well, and it’s the hardware carrying them out…

    @Charles Xavier

You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. The Linux works best on a 750THz computer, which has not been produced yet. Therefore no one is able to run Linux. Your point is moot.

Charles Xavier is obviously joking. Charles, you had me thinking you really were that stupid in the other post you commented on.

    http://www.top500.org/stats/list/30/os

Here is a list of the OS’s used on the top 500 super computers around the world. out of those 500, 381 are running some form of linux. And referring to a later post of yours, Linux needs nothing from microsoft at all to run, nor does Apple’s Mac OS X, or any of the BSDs. I can’t fathom where you got this ridiculous idea, but it is just completely false, and i hope you understand why you have become the laughing stock of the internet.

Your love of Vista (or XP pond edition as we refer to it here) is just pathetic.

    Axman6.
